VOLUNTEER WITH GIRL SCOUTS to help girls in north central Alabama, which includes Blount County, and take home critical skills in management, event planning, and public speaking while learning how to care better for yourselves and your families. Volunteers in any capacity are welcomed, but troop leaders, service unit volunteers, cookie and fall produce workers, and trainers in the Blount County area are especially needed. FAIR BOOTH REGISTRATION for the Blount County Fair will be Aug. 2 through Sept. 3. Organizations, businesses, churches, individuals, and clubs that intend to participate should contact the Agribusiness Center in Oneonta. Fair dates are Sept. 14 through Sept. 18. INTERESTED IN BREASTFEEDING? A breastfeeding support group meets in the Community Room at the Blount County Health Department, 1001 Lincoln Avenue (Ala 75), Oneonta, the second from the last Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. Women who are breastfeeding or want to know more about breastfeeding are invited to attend.
