RIVER TUBE FLOAT SATURDAY, JULY 17 The Friends of the Locust Fork River is offering this fun opportunity to float the river in lazy, slow, cool water. We will carpool to private property where we will leave our cars. There’s a short hike through poison ivy to the river. Generally a good washing in the river gets rid of the poison ivy – but no guarantees. Bring anti-poison ivy cream, sunscreen, river shoes, insect repellant, a sun hat suitable for river floating, a picnic lunch and drinks in a cooler, and a floating device. We will be on the river one to two hours, depending on the swiftness of the river. We will picnic at the end of the trip. To register, call Leigh at 205-429-1090 or e-mail Leigh@uab.edu.
