FLU CLINIC will be held Monday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., in the community room of the Blount County Health Department for those six months and older. Medicaid, Blue Advantage, Medicare (red, white, and blue card), ALLKids, and Blue Cross/ Blue Shield insurance is accepted. Shots are $5 for those with no insurance. ONEONTA PUBLIC LIBRARY Today, Nov. 14: Amaryllis Garden Club Mitten Tree is up and will remain through Tuesday, Dec. 18, to accept donations of winter clothing items, coloring books and crayons, and toys.

ONEONTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION invites businesses, clubs, individuals, and organizations to enter its 6th Annual Holiday Decorating Contest and the Festival of Lights Tree Decorating Contest. Registration for the holiday decorating contest is free and due by tomorrow, Nov. 15. Winners of multiple categories will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m., in front of Miller’s Soda Shoppe. The tree decorating contest costs $150 to cover the cost of a live Fraser fir that can be decorated Monday, Nov. 26, through Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the green areas around the gazebo. Awards will be given in multiple categories.

FREE NALOXONE (NARCAN) TRAINING will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 5:30 p.m., at Cooper Green Hospital, Second Floor Cafeteria, 1515 6th Ave. S, Birmingham. Each participant receives a free Naloxone kit after completing the one-hour training class provided by Recovery Resource Center, a program of the Crisis Center.
