Come celebrate Altoona this Saturday

They know how to celebrate in that Etowah County town that spills over into Blount northeast of Oneonta.

Altoona Day 2012 is set for all day this Saturday, May 12, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. It will be a day of FREE food and music yet, a day of arts and crafts, classic cars, fun for kids, and celebrities to meet and greet.

Want to know who?

Country music’s headliner Frankie Ballard plus the bluegrass sounds of Breaking Grass, Country Chase with Trent Slayton; country Christian artist Jo Ann Bullard; gospel music by The Evangelaires, and Southern Star Cloggers.

Then there are Johnny Crawford, who played Mark McCain on The Rifleman; Jon Provost, who played Timmy from Lassie; and John Volstad who played the other brother Darryl on Newhart.

For something different, try the fashion show from Brittany Lynn Modeling; and local artists Rodney Medlin and Brittany Hallex. And come see the Wild West in Action with the Hatcreek Cowboys.

It’s a wild west day for everyone, says Kevin Wilbert. All on Sixth Avenue in front of Exchange Bank in Altoona.
