Toni Michelle Collins, 36, of Marshall County, has been sentenced to life with the possibility of parole, according to Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey. Collins plead guilty to a lesser charge of murder in exchange for testifying against Thomas Doyle Crowe, 34, of Blount County.
Crowe and Collins were arrested for the murder of Marvin Allen Dailey, 71, a few days after Dailey was found dead in his burned-out house near Highland Lake on county road 29 in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day 2009.
Collins will remain in the Blount County Jail until she is transported to the Department of Corrections.
In September, Crowe was found guilty of capital murder, and the jury voted 11-1 in favor of the death penalty. Judge Steven King will make the final decision as to whether Crowe will receive the death penalty or a lesser sentence of life without parole on Feb. 5 at 1:30 p.m.
