Oneonta, died Feb. 25, 2013, at BMC Princeton Hospital, Birmingham. A Blount County native, Mr. Woodard was son of James William “Willie” and Rhoda Jane White Woodard. He was retired after 30 years of service from Joy Manufacturing/Robbins Drilling Company as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Woodard was a longtime, and oldest, member of Oneonta Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by wife Agnes Eugenia “Jenny” Beasley Woodard and brothers Alvie, Ulys, Austin, and Carter Woodard.
Surviving are sons Danny (Cheryl) Woodard, Rosa, and Glenn (Dana) Woodard, Tyler, Texas; grandchildren Dana (Steve) Bryant, Katie (Reese) Stokes, and Eric (Allison) Woodard; great-grandchildren Cora Woodard and Jackson Stokes; brothers Coy Woodard, Hershel Woodard, and Bob Woodard.
Bob Swain and Mel Wade officiated the funeral Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lemley Funeral Home. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Charles Fendley, Garvin Green, Glenn Tolbert, Jimmy Buckner, Ricky Boring, and Jerry Hyde serving as pallbearers.
