SPECIAL EVENTS


BLOUNTSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH invites young people to hop on board the Boomerang Express and travel to the Land Down Under for a week of nonstop action and learning about Jesus! The special week is set for June 1 through June 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for those who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade. Pre-registration and community block party will be Saturday, May 16, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.



MT. CARMEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH on county road 29 will have a memorial service Sunday, May 17, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The message by pastor Curtis Atkinson will be followed by lunch and then singing at 1:30 p.m. Special singers will be New Ground from Scottsboro.



LOCUST FORK BAPTIST CHURCH is sponsoring a Philippians 3:14 5K walk/ run Saturday, May 23, at 8:30 a.m. with registration at 7:30 a.m. Early race registration and packet pickup will be available Friday, May 22, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Saturday also features a free kids fun run at 9:30 a.m., a moon walk, and other activities for children. Early registration is $25, and race-day registration is $30. Proceeds will fund scholarships for youth in the Locust Fork area who needs financial assistance to go on mission trips or participate in other church-related trips/events. NEW HOPE CHURCH, Holly Springs community, Blount Mountain, will have memorial and decoration Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. Pastor Eugene Butler invites everyone to bring a lunch and eat at picnic tables or inside fellowship hall.



SNEAD BAPTIST CHURCH Ladies Group will have its annual plant and flower sale Saturday, May 9, between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the church parking lot located on Ala 75 near Snead baseball park. Sale will feature climbing rosebushes, knockout roses of many colors, azaleas, and a variety of other flowering bushes, ferns, perennials, and annuals. Included will be hanging baskets and flowering pots suitable for Mother’s Day gifts.



BROOKSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH will have a yard sale May 9 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. to benefit the Brooksville Baptist Cemetery Fund. Proceeds will go to help mow the church cemetery.
