HOMECOMINGS

CALVARY MISSIONARY BAPTIST encourages all former pastors and members to join the congregation in worship on the 28th anniversary of the organization of the church. Homecoming will be Sunday, Nov. 6, with worship at 11:00, noon meal at 12:00, and singing at 1:00. The Steve Beam Family of Arab will be special singing guests. Waylon Thrasher is pastor.

REVIVALS

COMMUNITY CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN, Ala 79 3 miles south of Cleveland, will have fall revival services Sunday morning, Nov. 6, when John Smallwood will preach, and Sunday evening through Thursday evening, Nov. 10, at 7 o’clock, when Randy Hale will preach. “Come and receive a blessing.”

MT. VIEW BAPTIST will feature the Cavaliers Quartet at its old-fashioned singing Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. following Sunday school at 10, preaching at 11, and dinner around noon. Mt. CROSS HALO COWBOY CHURCH will host a bluegrass gospel singing featuring James and Ruby Keener along with the Carrell Family Sunday, Nov. 13, at 9 a.m. The singers are well known and respected in Bluegrass circles. GOD’S LITTLE CHURCH, 4977 Old Ala 75 in Allgood, will have the Joyful Hearts of Cullman as special singers Sunday, Nov. 13, at 1:30 p.m.

WILSON CHAPEL CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE will host a singing featuring the Ozarks tonight, Nov. 2, at 6:30. From Oneonta go north on Ala 75 to Friday’s Crossing, turn right in front of Glass Grocery, go to county 36, church on corner on left.

NEW BEGINNING CHURCH, Lake Drive, Blountsville, will hold a benefit singing for Helen Tupper Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. The Faithmen Quartet and Faith, Hope, and Charity will be among the special singers. Barbecue sandwich combos and hot dogs will be sold starting at 6 p.m. All proceeds will go to Helen Tupper for medical expenses.

NEW EMMAUS MISSIONARY BAPTIST will have 7 p.m. revival services Monday Friday, Nov. 14-Nov. 18, preceded by 6:30 prayer meetings. Evangelist John Hutchens will preach. Wayne Allcorn is pastor. CENTER SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH will host a Harvest Festival Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. Games, food, prizes. The event is to provide a community outreach for the church. Everyone is invited to the free event. The church is 4 miles south of Locust Fork on Center Springs Road.

BLOUNTSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH’S Priority Ringers, the handbell choir, will play at the community Thanksgiving service Nov. 20 and in the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, Dec. 18.

COMMUNITY CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN, Ala 79, 3 miles south of Cleveland, will present its annual live Nativity Sunday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served between programs. “This will truly make a difference in your Christmas spirit.”

FOWLER SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH will stage its 2011 Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 19, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Its craft sale will be a great time to shop for Christmas gifts. Its bake sale will offer cakes, cookies, pies, candy, and Delois Dunn’s famous fried pies for your Thanksgiving table. The church will serve Thanksgiving lunch that day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.: turkey or ham, dressing, and all the trimmings. Cost will be $7 for adults, $5 for children 10 and younger.
