SPECIAL EVENTS BLOUNTSVILLE UNITED METHODIST will present “The Splendor of Christmas,” a musical for choir and congregation, on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA BAPTIST invites all to celebrate the season there on Sunday, Dec. 19. The Sanctuary Choir will present the musical “O Holy Night” during morning worship service at 11. This Christmas presentation is filled with classic carols and hymns, along with stirring new songs. That evening at 6 the Wee Kids Choir will sing holiday selections, and the Jesus Singers Children’s Choir will perform “Follow the Star,” a musical that tells why the Wise Men sought the Christ child and why we still do today. PHILADELPHIA BAPTIST (Oneonta) and PLEASANT MOUNT BAPTIST (Remlap) thank everyone who participated and contributed toward the benefit dinner and concert Dec. 4 to help with medical expenses of Mallory Page Brown, 23, victim of a massive stroke. So far, over $6000 has been raised. Mallory and her family sincerely appreciate everyone’s kindness, generosity, and continued prayers. ONEONTA CHURCH OF GOD will present the program “A Traditional Christmas” Sunday, Dec. 19, at 5 p.m. The church is located on U.S. 231 north.

BETHEL BAPTIST will hold a candlelight Christmas service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. The Adult Choir will present special music. Everyone is invited to share this time of celebrating the birth of Jesus. Church located at 87927 U.S. 278 in Snead.

Dec. 19: Dessert theater at 6 p.m. at Oneonta First; an adult choir musical at 11 a.m. at Locust Fork; “Hanging of the Green” at 11 a.m. and candlelight service at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Hill; Christmas musical and drama at 5 p.m. at Center Springs; the Lord’s Supper at 11 a.m. at Blountsville; “Jesus: There’s Something About That Name” at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Mount.

Dec. 24: Vespers service at 5 p.m. at Union Hill; Christmas Eve, carols, and candlelight service at 5 p.m. at Oneonta First.

Dec. 26: Priority Ringers handbell ensemble at 11 a.m. at Blountsville.

Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Lord’s Supper from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oneonta First.

CALVARY EPISCOPAL, 1002 Park Avenue, Oneonta, invites everyone to the celebration of Twelfth Night Tuesday, Jan. 4, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Admission is free. The event will include performances by local talent, displays of artworks in various media, and refreshments served in the congregation’s parish hall. Twelfth Night signifies the conclusion of the Christmas season and is an opportunity for merrymaking, thanksgiving, and welcoming Epiphany’s Wise Men along with the new year.

BLOUNTSVILLE ANGEL TREE will again this year benefit children from the Blountsville area. Residents are invited to select an angel from the tree at Blountsville Town Hall. THE GREENHOUSE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY invites the public to its performance of the Christmas musical “It All Happened in the Country” tonight, Dec. 15, at 6:30 at Blountsville United Methodist Church. The performers invite all to join them for a country reception in the fellowship hall afterwards.

GRACE FELLOWSHIP ALLIANCE will have Christmas worship services Sundays Dec. 19 and Dec. 26 at 10:45 a.m. The Christmas program “The Real Story and The Real Star of Christmas” will be presented at the church Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Christmas goodies will be served in the fellowship hall following the program. The church is located at 418 6th Street South, U.S. 231, past the Jet Pep.
