SPECIAL EVENTS COMMUNITY CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN will have its annual life Nativity scene Dec. 12 with performances at 6 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Refreshments served between performances. CLEAR SPRINGS UNITED METHODIST will have its annual soup and chili supper Saturday, Dec. 11, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. All-you-can-eat soup and chili with bread and tea will be $8 per person. A bake sale is also planned that night. Church located at 395 county road 15, off Ala 75 near Limestone Springs.

BETHEL BAPTIST Kids for Christ and Wee Choir will present a special choral/drama program “Christmas Joy” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy refreshments in the family life center fellowship hall after the program. Church located at 87927 U.S. 278 in Snead.

Bethel will also hold a candlelight Christmas service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. The Adult Choir will present special music. Everyone is invited to share this time of celebrating the birth of Jesus.

LESTER MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST Children’s Hand Bell Choir will perform Sunday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m., in the fellowship hall, immediately followed by a performance of “Hotel Bethlehem” presented by the LMUMC Children’s Choir, also in the followship hall.

UNION HILL BAPTIST will present “Christmas in the Country” on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10 and Dec. 11. The activities start each evening at 5:30 with a complimentary community soup and chili dinner with all the trimmings. Following the meal will be puppet shows, a live Nativity, children’s activities, and the musical presentation “Joy Has Dawned” at 7 p.m. under direction of Greg Hollis, minister of music and education. FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST ASSOCIATION invites everyone to special events this month. On Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, Union Hill will present “Christmas in the Country” with a chili supper at 5:30 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. December 12 events will include Christmas music with choir members of all ages participating at 10:15 a.m. and children’s graded choir program at 6 p.m. at Oneonta First; children’s Christmas musical at 6 p.m. at Locust Fork; missionary speakers Jim and Laura Williams with “March for Missions” at 11 a.m. at Center Springs; music ministry presenting “Christmas at Hayden” at 6 p.m. at Hayden First; Christmas caroling at 6 p.m. at Blountsville; and children’s “The Mouse’s Tale” at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Mount.

BLOUNTSVILLE ANGEL TREE will again this year benefit children from the Blountsville area. Residents are invited to select an angel from the tree at Blountsville Town Hall. TRAFFORD FIRST BAPTIST, 3rd Avenue West, will present “One Holy Night” Sunday, Dec. 12, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. A live Nativity will be among other events, including free food, door prizes, music and singing, a bicycle giveaway, hay rides, and a sweet shop.

BLOUNTSVILLE UNITED METHODIST will host a community Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 11, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Activities in the children’s area will include inflatables, face-painting, ornament crafts, Veggie Tales, a cupcake walk, and more. The college-career group (Inner Circle) is sponsoring additional activities.

THE GREENHOUSE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY invites the public to its performance of the Christmas musical “It All Happened in the Country” on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at Blountsville United Methodist Church. After the performance, all are invited to join them for a country reception in the fellowship hall.

GRACE FELLOWSHIP ALLIANCE will have Christmas worship services each Sunday Dec. 12, Dec. 19, and Dec. 26 at 10:45 a.m. The Christmas program “The Real Story and The Real Star of Christmas” will be presented at the church Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Pastor Jeremy Lesley is originally from Oneonta; he is joined by Neely owner Randy Beason, bassist Billy McKeithen, and drummer Si’ave Teofilo as church band members.
