ONEONTA SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH will present the Christmas play on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the evening service. The church is located at 736 First Ave. East, Oneonta.

ONEONTA WORSHIP CENTER The church is sponsoring ‘Ladies Evening Out,’ where shoppers can make purchases from a variety of national companies and their local representatives. A space will be available for children to play while mothers (and dads) shop. The event will be at the church on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

UNION HILL BAPTIST CHURCH presents the annual ‘Christmas in the Country’ event on Friday and Saturday nights, Dec. 8-9, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. There will be a light display, a live Nativity, a snack supper, puppets, sign choir, hayrides, and a gift for children (while supplies last). PLEASANT VIEW MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will have a Watch Night service on Sunday, New Year’s Eve, beginning at 8 p.m. Guest singers will be The Singing Commodores. HAYDEN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH The Celebrate Recovery ministry is held Monday nights from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., at the Family Life Center at the intersection of Ala 160 and County Road 7. The ministry, sponsored by Hayden and Smokerise United Methodist Churches and Oasis of Hope Church, offers help for those with ‘hurts, hang-ups, and habits.’ Meal provided.

MOUNTAIN CHAPEL CHURCH The series ‘Steps to Freedom in Christ’ will be taught beginning tonight, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m., and continuing each Wednesday for four weeks. Charles Mozeley, founder of Christian Counseling Services, will teach the class, which is about resolving personal and spiritual conflicts. The church is located at 1871 Rogers Road at County Road 20.

AUTUMNWOODS CHURCH at Dailey’s Chapel in Rosa has begun an eight-week small group study by Francis Chan, titled ‘You and Me Forever,’ on Wednesdays, at 6:30 p.m. A light meal will be served and childcare is available. GREENS CHAPEL CHURCH has a Bible study, Windows to the World, and will explore all 66 books of the Bible, one book each week, on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

CALVARY EPISCOPAL CHURCH has a food pantry ministry the fourth Sunday of each month, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Dry beans and rice will be given away on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.

BLOUNTSVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH has the Wonderful Wednesday program for kindergarten through sixth grade with a light meal at 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for grades 7-12 followed by Bible studies and activities until 7:30 p.m. No Wonderful Wednesday when school is out. Bus transportation is available.

Youth meets each Sunday from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

CLEVELAND CHURCH OF CHRIST Service schedule is as follows: Bible study, 10 a.m.; worship, 11 a.m.; evening service, 6 p.m., midweek Bible study, Wednesdays, 6 p.m.
