The Blount County Christmas Parade gets underway tomorrow night, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. with slight changes in the route announced last week.
Themed “A Dickens Christmas,” the parade will begin promptly at 7 p.m., entering Ala 75 at the Olive Home and going south downtown. Marchers will enter the parade from Daniel Shopping Center (Sav-a-Lot).
The parade will turn left off Ala 75 onto 1st St. (Picket Fence). Bands will disband to the right off 1st St. onto 1st Ave., where buses will be lined up. Walking groups will turn right off Ala 75 onto 1st St. and continue a block to Lester Memorial Church parking lot.
Floats and all vehicles will turn left off 1st St. onto 1st Ave., proceed through downtown to the Agribusiness Center by turning right onto 4th St. at Beautique Salon, continuing up the hill and crossing over High School Street where they will enter the Agribusiness Center through double gates in the upper lot.
