The winners of the 2019 Blount County Children’s Center’s “Stop Child Abuse” Poster Contest were recognized at a reception held April 7 at the Blount County Family Services Building and hosted jointly by Judge Sherry Burns and the staff of the Blount County Children’s Center. All Blount County and Oneonta students in K5 through sixth grade were invited to submit a poster. This year’s winners were selected by a committee of Children’s Center board members.
The grand prize winner was Tanner Martin. He is a second grader at Southeastern, and his teacher is Ms. Murphy. Other winners are: kindergarten – Tucker Martin (1st), Jazlyn Shriver (2nd), and J.R. Sturgeon (3rd); first grade – Hampton Tidwell (1st), Amelia Croeze (2nd), and Taylor Moon (3rd); second grade – Kenley Keener (1st), Maya Zarate (2nd), and Isabella Rivera (3rd); third grade – Jude Salamone (1st), Emilee Horton (2nd), and Eliana Croeze (3rd); fourth grade – Maddie Burton (1st), Hunter Doss (2nd), and Austin McKinzie (3rd); fifth grade – Isleigh Hicks (1st), Tori Smith (2nd), and Mattie Foust (3rd); sixth grade – Austin Self (1st), Lauren Peters (2nd) and Magaly Chacon (3rd).
