Casey to seek death penalty for 2009 murder

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey will seek the death penalty for two suspects in connection to a 2009 murder near Highland Lake. Casey informed the court of her intentions during an arraignment and status call last week.

Thomas Doyle Crowe, 32, and Toni Michelle Collins, 34, were indicted on capital murder charges by a grand jury in October in the death of 71-year-old Marvin Allen Dailey.

Dailey’s body was discovered in his burned-out home on Thanksgiving morning in 2009.

Casey presented the matter to the grand jury in October while working as an assistant attorney general.
