Altoona, died May 9, 2014, at UAB Hospital. She was of German descent, enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, gardening, and reading and arts and crafts projects with her children and grandchildren. Husband Jerry Sanford predeceased her, as did son Kamron Sanford, sister Rita Sanford, stepfather Gus DuPuis, and grandfather Richard Fluharty Sr.

Surviving are daughters Lana (Duggan) Boartfield, Cleveland, Ohio, Hana ( Warren) Helms, Albertville; son Kurtis (Emalee) Sanford, Springville; grandchildren Audrey, Cora, Haley, Wyatt, Meredith, Greyson; special friend Stan Jerabek, Walnut Grove; mother Karin DuPuis, Tennessee; father Denny Fluharty, Kansas; grandmother Lessie Fluharty, Walnut Grove; siblings Richard and Lauren Fluharty, Holly and Gary Cawthon, all of Tennessee, Renee and Harry Lange, Oklahoma; mother-in-law Kate Pate, Walnut Grove; sister-in-law Cally Lowe, Gadsden; brother-in-law James Jenkins, Walnut Grove; many other family members.

Tony Jones officiated the 3 p.m. service held May 13 at The Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Burial was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Stan Jerabek, Blake Kuykendall, Trae Reaves, Jake Wise, Russell Witt, and Wallie Jackson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Duggan Boartfield, Warren Helms, Kurtis Sanford, and Ricky Fluharty.
