Care First joins St. Vincent’s

Care First Home Health has joined St. Vincent’s Health System and is now St. Vincent’s Home Health. The joint venture became effective April 1. Care First is a Medicare-certified home health agency serving patients in 12 counties.

“Our agreement with Care First reflects the commitment both organizations have to providing a strong continuum of quality, compassionate care,” said John O’Neil, St. Vincent’s system president and CEO.

“The Daughters of Charity, as the first noncloistered order of sisters, not only established hospitals, but went into homes to care for the sick. They provide the example of what it means truly to minister to people where they are. The addition of home health to our ministry reaffirms our commitment to this same mission almost 400 years later.”

Care First has four Medicare-certified agencies with offices in Birmingham, Oneonta, and Pell City. John Lee, agency president, said, “We are excited about the opportunity to partner with St. Vincent’s to enhance the care both organizations provide to the community.”
