PALS SPRING CLEANUP will be Friday, April 16, through Monday, April 26.Republic Services has donated five dumpsters for roadside and river clean up (not for cleaning out closets and garages). This is a great time for organizations and groups to make Blount County beautiful again. Each district has boxes of garbage bags to distribute to assist in cleanups. A representative from your group may contact your commissioner to pick those up if needed.

MASTER GARDENER ANNUAL PLANT SALE will be Saturday, April 24, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Blount County Agribusiness Center. Annuals, shrubs, perennials, and vegetable transplants will be available. All proceeds will benefit local projects.

DAFFODIL FESTIVAL Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Blountsville Historical Park. Entertainment provided by Pine Mountain Pickers, Cotton Pickin’ Kids, and others. Admission is $5 per car.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION for all Blount County Schools ends Friday, May 21. Check your local school’s website for specific dates and times. Required documentation for registration: valid birth certificate, record of immunization, proof of residency, Social Security card, and completed registration form.
