The Susan Moore Bulldog powerlifting team brought home the 3A State Championship last weekend. They also earned accolades as overall State Champions 1A-7A with the most points in the state tournament.
Individually, the Bulldogs racked up the medals. Seven took first place in their weight class: Tyler Vaughn, Derrick Franklin, Johnathan Villanueva, Angel Maldonado, Adrian Reyna, Trevor Black, and Nick Calderon. Second place finishers in their weight class were Brody Miller, Ramon Maldonado, Caleb Bailey, Matt Clowdus, and Justin Sierra. Third place finishers included Chaz Lindsay, Zach Smith, Anthony Cervantes, Cody Hayes, and Ethan Walker. Others finished strong as well: J.D. Pustola (4th), Tanner Nolen (5th), and Jesus Sandoval (5th).
Coaches Heath Lauderdale and Adam Wilson both said they are proud of the boys for their hard work and dedication.
