Board members sworn in; brief business agenda handled

District Judge Sherry Burns administers the oath of office to Patrick Adams (top) and Steve Anderton, both re-elected to four-year terms on the Oneonta City Schools Board of Education.

Recently re-elected board members Patrick Adams and Steve Anderton were sworn in at the Oneonta City Schools Board of Education meeting Monday. The board also approved superintendent Daniel Smith’s recommendations during a brief business meeting following an afternoon retreat of school principals and administrators. The board approved:

• enrollment of one middle school non-resident student for the 2018-2019 school year.

• overnight trip for the boys soccer team to Foley Feb. 13 through Feb. 16, 2019, for an invitational soccer tournament.

• Isai Vazquez as volunteer assistant coach for the girls soccer team for the 2018-2019 school year, pending background clearance.

• facility use agreement with Jana Thornton for baton lessons, pending background clearance.
