Board approves routine items

Blount County Board of Education

The Blount County Board of Education approved all of Superintendent Rodney Green’s operating recommendations for the period at its special meeting Monday. It approved:

Field trip

• Blountsville Elementary School’s field trip request for 5th- and 6th-grade students to go to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga March 12.

Agreements and contracts

• Cleveland High School’s contracts with: Lauren Blue, April Godsey, and David Cole to serve as judges; Cate Ann Davis to serve as choreographer; and Shannon Layton to serve as photographer for the 2020 Miss Panther Profile Pageant.


• allowing Zari Wright to transfer to the Jefferson County School System during the 2020-2021 school year, with the stipulation that the Blount County Board of Education will not assume any liability in relation to this release.

• accepting the resignation of Brandi Bradley, a family and consumer science teacher at Appalachian School, effective Feb. 19.
