Board approves recommendations

Oneonta City Board of Education

The Oneonta City Board of Education unanimously approved Superintendent Daniel Smith’s operating recommendations at its Nov. 25 business meeting. All board members were present. The board approved:

• continued enrollment of three non-resident high school students for the 2019-2020 school year.

• Rachel Williams as maternity leave substitute for Stefanie Weston, middle school STEAM (Science/Technology/ Engineering/Arts/Math) facilitator.

• employment of Gary Hunt as Oneonta City Schools bus driver, effective Nov. 26, for the 2019-2020 school year.

• the facility usage agreement with Oneonta Rec league soccer to use the elementary school gym.

The board also recommended, voted upon, and approved a one-time salary adjustment in the net amount of $200 per Oneonta City Schools employee. School board president Don Maples said it is given as a token of appreciation for employees’ continuing effective teamwork and good work overall.
