From left, Blountsville Town Council member Barry Smith, Mayor Michael Glass, president of Blountsville Historical Society O.K. Alexander, and councilmen Bob Cornelius and Ken Mullins display the grant received from the Alabama Historical Commission. Roof replacement and damage repairs to the park museum are the intended uses of the $9,675 awarded by the Alabama Legislature and Gov. Kay Ivey. The grant will make a tangible impact and contribute to the preservation of Alabama history. All work on historic buildings will follow the Secretery of the Interior’s standards for rehabilitation. The organization is grateful for all who contribute to the preservation of Blountsville Historical Park and invite you to visit. Hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily. Don’t forget about the upcoming annual Daffodil Festival on Saturday, March 16.
