The 63rd Annual Blount County Fair is almost here. The fair will open Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m., and end at 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 17. There are many different things to see and do this year. There will be rides, booths, a pageant, and animal showings.
Tuesday and Wednesday are student nights. Everyone gets in for $10 instead of the regular $12 entrance fee. Thursday night is Senior Citizens Night, and for anyone 65 and over the entry fee is $2. Military Night is Friday, and you get $2 off admission with your military ID. Finally, Saturday is College Night. Wear your school colors because the best dressed wins a prize.
This year’s fair will be loaded with food trucks offering a selction of good things to eat. There are also a wide variety of booths and special events inside the Blount County-Oneonta Agri- Business Center. A petting zoo for the kids, special animal showings, and cash drawings are available each night. Finally The Whole Backstagetheatre group from Guntersville will perform Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m.
Many come for the amazing rides, but there is definitely something for everyone this year. Come out to the fair. It’s got more than ever before!
