Blount County teachers and administrators welcomed Dr. Tommy Bice, Alabama Superintendent of Education during the in-service day for Blount County Schools held Aug. 5 at J.B. Pennington High School. Dr. Bice presented a program titled “Imagine,” which encourages attendees to think of the possibilities for Alabama students when schools implement processes and programs which are unique and “out of the box.”
Dr. Bice visits schools one day a week, usually a surprise drop-in visit, such as the visit last spring to Cleveland Elementary on their Leadership Day.
“We were fortunate to have Dr. Bice with us for this important session,” said Blount County Superintendent Jim Carr. “He inspires us to continue to be the very best we can be, and his message reinforces our vision and goals for Blount County students.”
