Things are changing in Blount County. One of the changes that I am particularly excited about is at The Blount Countian. It’s almost serendipitous to see it arrive in the hands of someone who admired Molly Howard and her vision so much. Molly, then Rob Rice, held strong to the notion that a successful community paper is the life of that community. I for one love that we still have a “paper” paper.
This column, squeezed “Between the Lines” of local news, obituaries, advertisements, classifieds, and other weekly articles, is meant to be fun. I am a curious person by nature and I’m always moving, seeking and learning. Whether it’s a local store, a unique person, a burger and a beer, an old bridge, a shirt or an idea, there is so much found right here at home. So, I’ll drag you with me as I go out-and-about finding just what makes this county different from the other 66. It will never be political. It will never be biased. It will hopefully never be boring.
Until next week, I hope you find something new here in Blount County. It’s a good old place to call home.
