BETTY LOU HORTON BULLARD, 87 Birmingham, formerly of Cleveland, died Dec. 30, 2018 at UAB Palliative Care Unit, Birmingham. Born Nov. 27, 1931, in Blount County, she became a lifelong member of Green’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing organ and piano, and was active in CPW. She retired from Blue Bell at age 62; she progressed there from seamstress to supervisor to certified auditor. Several years after retirement, she moved to Inverness to be near family. She was a generous and selfless mother, grandmother, and friend. Predeceasing her were parents Lon Horton and Louell Horton Tidwell, brother James Louie Horton, and sisters Alsie Horton Cornelius and Gladys Horton Blackwood.
Surviving are daughters Betty Nyoka (William David Bryan), Ava Lou (Charles K.) McPherson; grandchildren Steven (Sarah) Phillips, Lori (Lane) Lynchard, Amy Bryan (Bayron) Baggett, April L. Phillips; great-grandchildren Madeline Phillips, Bryan Lynchard, Mary Beth Phillips, Harley Baggett, Bayley Baggett; sister-in-law Ossie Horton; stepsister Lois Baty.
David Lenski officiated the 11 a.m. service held Jan. 2 at Green’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at the adjoining cemetery. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home directed.
