BERYL EDMOND CLEMENTS,



79, Oneonta, retired civil engineer with NASA, died Nov. 16, 2011, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Mr. Clements graduated from Blount County High School here in 1949 and from The University of Alabama in 1957. He was husband of Sharon Ann Gray Clements and son of the late Eugene Sr. and Jessie Hill Clements.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a member of Oneonta Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, and Zamora Shriners. He danced with the Covered Bridge Squares and the Lake Twirlers and was a member of the breakfast bunch and NARFE.

Mr. Clements was predeceased by parents; granddaughter Tina Pratt; brothers Eugene, Paul, and Percy Clements; and sister Marci Thompson. Surviving are his wife; daughters Jane ( Terry) Pratt, Beth Carvalho, and Karen Carman, all of Florida, Brenda ( John) Wright, New Jersey, and Lori ( Jim) Stratton, Leeds; grandchildren Rick, Mindy, Thomas, Nicole, Dylan, Daniel, Amanda, Rebecca, Zacharias, Alexander, and Sheena; great-grandchildren Zo’Rell, Zariah, Jayden, and Dawson; and sisters Doris and Faye Clements, both of Florida.

L.G. “Bud” Jones officiated services Nov. 19 at Lemley Funeral Chapel, burial following at Antioch Cemetery on Straight Mountain.
