BENJAMIN L. “BENNY” BABA,



81, Cleveland, died March 2, 2012, at the residence. Born in Great Falls, Mont., he was son of James George and Dessie Ree Stephens Baba. Mr. Baba was a loving grandfather and a people person who supported Cleveland schools and Auburn University. He was a member of Green’s Chapel Presbyterian Church. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by sister Mary Rivers.

Surviving are wife Martha Fetner Baba; son Mickey Baba; daughters Lynn (Rick) Townson, and Janet (Bob) Owen; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother George Baba; daughter-in-law Donna Baba; and Margie Howard.

Lon Broyles and Bob Owen officiated the service held at Mr. Baba’s church March 4, at 2 p.m. Burial was at Green’s Chapel Cemetery with John Owen, Seth Owen, Micah Owen, Matt Nielsen, Nathan Baba, and J.D. Davis serving as pallbearers. Mac Griffin, Sherry White, Louie Horton, and Lewis Rushing served as honorary pallbearers. Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home directed.
