Bearcats beat Bulldogs

The visiting Weaver Bearcats broke a 6-6 tie after one quarter with three second-quarter touchdowns from the defense and went on to roll over Susan Moore 41-14 last Friday night.

Susan Moore led 6-0 early when Ryan Brown hit Austin LeCroy with a 15-yard touchdown pass.

Weaver came back with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Timothy Hawkins to Paul Hubbard.

The game remained tied 6-6 well into the second quarter before the Bearcats exploded for three defensive touchdowns, all on interception returns.

Delo Forbes had a 30-yard return while Hawkins had returns of 55 and 68 yards as the Bearcats built a 28-6 halftime lead.

Chris Troge had a 58-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for the Bearcats.

Susan Moore got on the board again when Brown hit Keith Jackson on a 21-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

Susan Moore gad 121 yards rushing and 149 passing. Weaver rushed for 239 yards and passed for 94.

Brown completed 14 of 32 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted four times.

Chase Brown rushed for 74 yards on just nine carries while Jay Williams added 47 yards on 13 attempts.

Jay Williams caught four passes for 18 yards. Keith Jackson (34 yards) and Chase Brown (23 yards) each caught three passes. Austin LeCroy had two receptions for 65 yards.

Daniel Cornelius led the Susan Moore defense with 10 tackles. Keith Jackson had eight stops.

Susan Moore dropped to 1-3 overall, 0-3 in 3A Region 5. The Bulldogs will host Oneonta this week.
