Oneonta resident and Barton-Clay Fine Jewelers’ jeweler Patrick Conway received two awards from the Alabama Jewelers Association at the 2014 convention held recently. He took first prize for the sterling silver and carved coral ‘Warrior-King’ cuff links he created, and first prize with a unique 18-karat white gold, kunzite, aquamarine, and diamond pendant.
Conway made his first ring at age 13 and ‘never looked back.’ He says ‘I’m not a master, but a student of design and wearability.’ Barton-Clay owner and CEO, Eric McClain, says that attitude is what makes him such an asset to the company. ‘He regularly creates custom, one-of-a-kind pieces to customer specifications.’
