Are you proud of your roadsides?

Neither are we. PALS pick-up-the-roadside campaign is underway April 1-15. So far, eight participants have registered. But a handful of volunteers can’t begin to scratch the surface.

We suggest that everybody pick up their own area, then call one of these participants to pick up the bags to add to the load they will carry to the landfill.

The Blount County Commission has provided money to be divided among those picking up according to poundage. The campaign is two-fold: provide funds for organizations and improve the areas in an effort to Keep Blount County Beautiful.

Participants are: Berry Mountain Community/Rosa Fire Department; Rebecca’s Paws and Claws; Trinity Baptist Church Children’s Ministry; Mary Alice Stevenson; Blount County Master Gardeners; Rose Garden Club; Mount High Baptist Youth; Oneonta Cub Scouts Pack #4053.

Groups interested in participating should phone Sue Tidwell at 274-2072 to register. Sue Tidwell
