The town of Blountsville is one step closer to voting on an alcohol referendum this June. According to Blountsville town clerk Alethea Bailey, the names on the alcohol petition presented during last month’s town meeting have been verified by the Board of Registrars.
Bailey says during the town council’s meeting on Monday, the board’s letter will be presented and the issue will be on the agenda for discussion.
“I can’t tell what action they will take, but they will have to pass a couple of resolutions to get this on the ballot. If they get the ball rolling, it is possible to have the vote on June 3,” Bailey says.
