Alabama treasure

A big thank you to our Community Arts Council and Historical Society for inviting the venerable Dr. Wayne Flynt to address students and adults in the kick-off of Blount County’s annual lyceum series. I have had the great pleasure of meeting and hearing Dr. Flynt, and he is surely one of Alabama’s “living treasures.”

I encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to hear him speak.

My only concern is that it seems only Oneonta High School students will be able to attend the early presentation. I hope they will consider holding his talk in some venue that will allow more of Blount’s students this exceptional opportunity.
