Washburn wins award

Jacob Washburn of Blountsville, was recently graduated from and was recognized by University of the Cumberlands as one of the department of Health Exercise and Sport Science students of the year. Washburn was selected in the Exercise and Sport Science category in which he earned a bachelor’s degree.

Gadsden State honors

The Rho Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Gadsden State Community College released the names of students recently earning membership into the honor society. Students inducted for 2019-2020 include: Noah Grady and Tyler Nichols of Altoona; Tyla Gilliland of Horton; and Santee Kyle of Oneonta.

Phi Kappa Phi inductees

Approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni are inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, each year. Among this year’s inductees are: John Cheney of Oneonta (JSU); Eric McGahee of Altoona (JSU); and Courtney Zajic of Oneonta (UAB).

Berry College recently announced its newest class of graduates. Among them were Anna Tucker and Noah Watson, both of Hayden.
