Cumberlands honors

Lauren McHan and Jacob Washburn of Blountsville were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester at University of the Cumberlands. To be eligible, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and be in good academic standing.

Georgia Tech graduate

Jalen Johnson of Oneonta earned a master of science in building construction and facility management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Johnson was among approximately 4,200 graduates who received degrees at commencement exercises in December.

Roane State honors

John Fallin of Blountsville was named to the President’s List for the fall 2019 semester at Roane State Community College. To be eligible, students must attain a 4.0 GPA while attempting 12 or more semester hours of college-level courses.

Troy University honors

Maggie Doss of Hayden was named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University for Fall Semester/ Term 2. The Chancellor’s List honors full-time students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and earn a 4.0 GPA.

Samford honors

Olivia Boren of Oneonta and Haley Harbison and Sadie Odom of Hayden were named to the Samford University Dean’s List for the 2019 fall semester. To qualify, students must have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

UA Honors

More than 12,000 students at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List (3.5 or higher GPA) or President’s List (4.0 GPA) for the 2019 fall semester.

Named to the President’s List were: Darby Elizabeth Hamm (Blountsville), Emily A. Morgan (Hayden), and Emily F. Campbell (Oneonta).
