Emanuel Terry of Blountsville was awarded a bachelor of science degree in exercise science from Lincoln Memorial University in May.

Fowler serves at Boys State

Briar Fowler, rising senior at Appalachian High School, was involved with the Board of Education at the 82nd American Legion Alabama Boys State. While serving, he worked to address public education issues in Alabama by creating policies and solutions. Fowler is the son of Loura Hicks and Tim Hicks.

Valdosta State Dean’s List

Madalyn Holt of Cleveland and Johnnie McCay of Remlap were named to the Spring 2019 Dean’s List at Valdosta State University. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized.

Fortenberry attends Robotics Academy

Micah Fortenberry of Cleveland recently attended Robotics Academy at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. The weeklong educational program promotes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), while training students with hands-on activities and missions based on teamwork, leadership, and decision making.
