A sign of history

Last Friday, Oneonta park and recreation employees Norman Clements, left, and Chad Weems installed the Historic Birmingham Mineral Railroad Site sign in front of the Oneonta Public Library. As a part of Birmingham native James Lowery’s project, signs are being placed at locations included in the 156-milelong Birmingham Mineral Railroad which ran from 1884-1988.
