RANDY FAULKNER

June 12, 2024

RANDY FAULKNER, age 65, passed away at his home on June 6, 2024.

He was a native of Cleveland, and was widely known as, "Big Red".

While Randy would want his obituary to remain "short and sweet and to the point," he should have known better that his daughter, Shelby, would do the opposite.

Randy grew up in Cleveland, Ala. He was one of four children from the late Howard and Geneva Faulkner. He spent most of his childhood working in his father's cabinet shop where he discovered and nurtured his passion for carpentry. When Ran-dy wasn't in the shop, you could always find him with his best friend of 60 years, Steve White.

Randy was a God fearing man of true grit and immense humor. He was kind, thoughtful, and honorable. He was full of knowledge, wisdom, and always had a funny story up his sleeve.

Randy had three children, Shelby, Alex, and Sarah-Anne, whom he was very proud of. He always kept a picture of his children in his wallet, along with a $20 bill on the occasion that one of his daughters would let their car run out of gas, which was a frequent occurrence.

While Randy loved being a father, his greatest joy in life was being a grandfather to Harper Jo, Randi, Kade, and Beau. When once caught red handed giving Harper Jo Kool-Aid and M&M's for breakfast, he simply responded with: “Poppa's house, Poppa's rules. "

He was a friend you could count on. A friend you could confide in. If you knew Randy Faulkner, you knew joy, laughter, and love. And the greatest of these, was his love. Until next time, Dad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Geneva Faulkner; sister Barbara Faulkner Self; Niece Jeannie Self.

His survivors are his children; Shelby (Jessica) Alex (Lauren) and Sarah Anne Faulkner. Grand-children; Harper Jo, Randi, Kade and Beau Faulk-nerBrothers; Rickey (Belinda) Faulkner Wayne Faulkner. Nieces: Donna Self Smith (Jim) Shannon Faulkner. Nephew: Brett (Sarah) Faulkner.

Randy was a great uncle and had many cous-ins. Randy also considered Romy and Townes White, and Peyton Thomas as his own and loved them dearly.

Service were held on Sunday, June 9, at Cleve-land First Baptist Church. Visitation was from noon to 3 p.m. Funeral followed. Randy Mahaffey Ralph McGowan officiated. Pallbearers were Steve White, Rob Branham, Packie Lawrence, Wayne Brown, Mitch White, Tyler White.
