HERBERT "HERBIE" LYNN BORING

HERBERT "HERBIE" LYNN BORING, 62, of Oneonta, passed away on May 22, 2024.

He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and taught sixth grade Sunday school for many years. He also worked at Southland International in sales for more than 20 years.

He is preceded in death by parents Herbert

Issac and Daniese Beasley Boring; sister Cindy Carol Boring; and nephew Chris Boring.

He is survived by wife Rhonda Sims Boring; daughters Brittany Strickland (Trey) and Brooklyn Putman (Deston); granddaughters Colbie Joy Putman, Harper Grace Strickland, and Henleigh Strickland; brother Rick Boring (Kathy);and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Lemley Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Boring laid in state at Union Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service was held at the church beginning at 11 a.m. with Paul Richey presiding.

Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery.

Asked to serve as pallbearers were Trey Stickland, Deston Putman, Colton Jones, Keaton Jones, Patrick Barfield, and Rick Boring.
