JOHN DWIGHT NOLEN

JOHN DWIGHT NOLEN, age 84, of Blountsville passed away Tuesday May 14,

2024, at Brookwood Medical Center.

John was born Nov 16, 1939, in Blount County, Ala., the son of J.D. and Nellie Wood Nolen. He was a 1957 graduate of Susan Moore High School and a 1963 graduate of Auburn University. He enjoyed a long career as a teacher and retired

from J.B. Pennington High School.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Nolen;

sons: John Nolen, Jr. (Angie), Eric Nolen (Lea Ann), and Randy Hammond (Stacy); sister: Nancy Murray; brother: Gather Nolen (Jennifer); son in law: Jerry Rice; grand- children: Colby Nolen, J. Dalton Nolen (Ashley), Lyndsey Nolen, Tanner Nolen, Grace Hammond Endress (Collin), Tess Hammond and Mackenzie Rice; great grandson: Jensen Nolen; host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: J.D. and Nellie Nolen; daughter: Kim Rice; brother-in-law: Robert “Cotton” Murray; brothers: Curtis Nolen and Bill Nolen.

Funeral Service were held Thursday May 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home with Brother Paul Kelley and Brother Greg Stone, officiating. Burial followed in Rock Springs Cemetery, Blountsville Funeral Home, directing.

Pallbearers were: Colby Nolen, Dalton Nolen, Tan- ner Nolen, Scott McPherson, Phillip Smith and Daryl Reeves
