SYBLE HORTON

SYBLE HORTON, 87 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at TLC Nursing Center. Syble was born December 1, 1936, in Blount County, the daughter of Alda Walker and Mattie Robertson Walker. She was a graduate of Cleveland High School and was married on March 31, 1955, to Dennis Horton. She was a member of Haw Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dennis Horton; daugh- ters: Nena (Ted) Self and Neda (Chris) Maddux; brothers: Jimmy (Dale) Walker and Billy (Shannon) Walker; sister: Dean (Ernie) Hillis; grand- children: Teddy Self, Chad (Tricia) Self, Lyndsey (Brandon) McQueen, Ashley Walden (Jamey) Faust, Anna (Brandon) Brewer and Alyssa (Jason) Harper; 13 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends and a host of children that are now adults that called her “Grammy”. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alda and Mattie Walker; stepmother: Lettie Whitworth; brothers: Leldon Walker, W.C. Walker and Joe Walker.

Funeral Service were 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Blountsville Funeral Home with Brian Weems and Jason Bryson officiating. The burial was in Dailey’s Chapel Cemetery.. Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Pallbearers were Teddy Self, Chad Self, Dylan Self, Eli Ellsworth, Max Walden and Ted Self.
