Blountsville officials announce departure of Police Chief Joseph Ragan
Tuesday afternoon the Town of Blountsville released a statement in response to rumors involving Police Chief Joseph Ragan.
Following is the statement signed by Mayor Michael Glass and the Blountsville Town Council:
The Town of Blountsville announces that Police Chief Joseph Ragan is no longer an employee of the town.
The Town takes all matters involving municipal operations, public trust, and accountability with the utmost seriousness. While personnel matters are confidential and the Town will not provide additional details regarding this matter, this action was taken following careful consideration and in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
The Mayor and Town Council recognize the importance of transparency and understand that members of our community may have questions regarding this decision.
