Clyde Edward "Eddie" Blaylock Sr.

CLYDE EDWARD "EDDIE" BLAYLOCK SR., 72 years old, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Easter Sunday, March 31.

Eddie grew up in Birmingham, Ala., and met his wife of 52 years in 1969. Eddie worked for 25 years at Lynn Strickland Tires. He then became a tire salesman and owner of Eagle Tire LLC. His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson from Alabama to Florida to Tennessee to Washington DC.

He is preceded in death by daughter Angela Marie Blaylock; parents Hilda and Emmery Smart; father Elbert and Gussie Blaylock; brother-in-law George Reed; nephew Eric Young; niece Bobbie Graves.

He is survived by wife Wanda Walker Blaylock; son Clyde Edward Blaylock Jr. (Natalie); grandchildren Gavin Knight (Kaitlyn), Brieanna Blaylock, Trey Calvert (Kiley), Devan Blaylock (Hannah), Phoebe Blaylock, and Kelly Strickland (Bud); great grandchildren Easton, Kinley, Baylor, Kaysen, Hayden, Bennett, Grailyn, Adaline, Levi, Aden, and Aylee; extended family Pat Walker, Linda and Johnny Glass, Mary Reed, Sally Butts, Floyd Walker Jr.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Lemley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Hughes presiding. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery with Clyde Blaylock, Devin Blaylock, Keith Young, Gavin Knight, Trey Calvert, and Floyd Walker serving as pallbearers.
