Seburn E. Johnson

Rev. Seburn E. Johnson, 83, of Hayden passed away Thursday April 23, 2026, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Brother Seburn was born Jan. 13, 1943, in Trafford, the son of James L.D. Johnson and Marie Garner Johnson. He and Patricia Love were married on Feb. 23, 1962, and enjoyed 64 years together raising their family and serving the Lord.

Brother Seburn pastored several churches in Blount County over the course of 51 years. He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church at the time of his death.

Brother Seburn was retired, having worked in steel fabrication and construction work for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Patricia Love Johnson; sons Barry S. Johnson and wife, Susan Sloan Johnson, and Rev. Sam Johnson and wife, Beth Shockley Johnson; grandchildren Michael Johnson and wife, Brooke Bradley Johnson, Stephen Johnson and wife, Andrea Tyler Johnson, Samantha Johnson Stewart and husband, Chad Stewart, and Rev. Patrick Johnson and wife, Sydney Jones Johnson; great grandchildren Teagan Johnson, Tate Johnson, Paisley Johnson, Luke Johnson, Ascher Stewart, Althea Stewart, and Hunter Johnson; along with a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James L.D. and Marie Johnson; son Terry E. Johnson; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service was Monday April 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Nectar Missionary Baptist Church with Mike Murphree and Terry Lynn officiating. Burial was in Nectar Cemetery with Blountsville Funeral Home directing. Visitation was Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home. 

Serving as pallbearers were Tim Johnson, Steve LeCroy, Jim Love, Joey Love, Jim Brakefield, Kevin Thomas, Robbie Walker and Allen Copeland.
