Jerry Dean Helton

Jerry Dean Helton, age 75, of Oneonta, passed away March 8, 2026. He worked for 35 years as a dairy hand until 1995, and then worked for Tyson for 17 years. He had and infectious smile and loved everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by parents Thomas Kelly and Dora Helton; brothers Thomas, Robert, William, David, Carl, Paul, and Gene; and sister Frances McTarsney.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Helton; sister Louise Helton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Lemley Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel beginning at 2 p.m. with Neal Whited presiding. Burial to follow in Nectar Cemetery.
