Richard (Rick) Daniel Johnston,

Richard (Rick) Daniel Johnston, born Sept, 6, 1948, died Feb. 16, 2026. He was married to Linda Faye (Tidwell) Johnston for 52 years. Children are son Scott Allen Johnston (Alisha) and daughter Susan Alyce Churchwell (Scott). Grandchildren are Brandon Scott Churchwell and Alycia RaiAnn Gibbons (John). Great- grandchildren are Scarlett (11), Beth (9), Robbie (4), and Hank (10 months). 

He was preceded in death by father Robert David Johnston, mother Jewel Ruth Johnston, and brothers Dennis, Kerry, and John. He is survived by brother Frank Johnston; sisters Kathy Hoagland (Pat), Bridget Jones (Boagie), and Jena O' Bryant (Jonathan); and he was loved by many nieces and nephews. 

Rick was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Highland Lake, where he served as a deacon and a men's Sunday School teacher. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, June 1967 - June 1974. He was an ordained minister and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. 

The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at Lemley Funeral Home from 12:30 to 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel beginning at 2 p.m. with Mark Lacks presiding. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers were Norman Bellew, Gene Martin, Danny Loyd, Josh Owens, Dan Hopper, Mark Stephenson, and Jesse Moore.
