Billy Ray Weaver

January 22, 2026

Billy Ray Weaver, age 82, of Oneonta, passed from

this life on Jan. 10, surrounded by those who loved
him.
Billy Ray was born March 8, 1943, in Susan
Moore, and spent his life as a master rock mason,
showcasing his craftsmanship in beautiful pathways,
impressive fireplaces, and sturdy walls across the
South - including the chapel at Oak Hill Cemetery.
He loved Alabama football (unless they were losing,
at which time the TV was abruptly turned off), Elvis
music, and true home cooking. He was as stubborn
and strong as an ox and was never far from an in-
credible prank or a good joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray D.
Weaver and Fayenell Fowler Weaver, and his broth-
ers Charles Weaver and Arnell Weaver (Sue Weaver).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra
Weaver; his daughters Kellie Leigh Weaver and Lynn
Bearden Hitt (Mark Hitt). Billy was a proud grand-
father to Jennifer Hitt Brunson (Scott Brunson) and
Lauren E. Hitt; and a cherished great-grandfather to
Baylor Brunson and Camryn Brunson, who brought
him great joy. He is also survived by a host of nieces
and nephews.
Billy Ray will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Ceme-
tery, where his life will be honored and his memory
cherished.
