Deborah Pate

Deborah Pate, 65, of Blountsville, passed away

Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at UAB St. Vincent’s Blount
Medical Center. Deborah was born May 8, 1960, in
Guntersville, the daughter of Ernest Hyatt Brown and
Inez Maze Brown. She was a graduate of J.B. Penning-
ton High School and worked as a transcriptionist for
Cunningham Pathology for many years.
She is survived by her sons Jason Pate and Jona-
than Pate; brothers and sister James (Rachel) Brown,
Jerry Brown, and Rhonda (Andy) Neill; grandchildren
Morgan, Jacob, and Caleb Pate, along with a host of
nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents E.H.
and Inez Brown; sister Sue Lee; and brother Kenneth
Brown.
Funeral Service was Saturday Jan. 17, 2026, at 1
p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home. Burial followed in
Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until
service time at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers were Tracy Alldredge, Tommy Lee,
Greg Neill, Mike Neill, Wes Neill, and Steven Hanson.
Honorary pallbearers were grandsons Jacob Pate and
Caleb Pate.
