Phyllis Davis Lemley, 72,

Mentone, died Dec. 25, 2025.

She was born in Scottsboro and

grew up in Smyrna, Ga.

She obtained a bachelor’s

degree from Athens State Uni-

versity and a master's degree

in social work from Alabama

A&M University, and enjoyed

a long and fulfilling career as a

licensed clinical social worker

providing services primarily to the elderly.

Predeceasing her were her parents Herman (Dave)

and Pauline Davis of Scottsboro and stepson Dusty

Lemley.

Surviving are her husband William Lemley of Men-

tone; daughters Alanya (Tommy) Butler, Erica (Marc)

Griffith; son Jon Eric Pountain and stepson Jake (Lea

Ann) Lemley; granddaughters Constance Beckner, Emily

Beckner, and Katelyn Griffith; grandson Cameron Grif-

fith; step-grandsons Christian and Nathan Lemley; and

step-grandaughter Lizzy Lemley Berry.

A service was held in the chapel at Lemley Funeral

Home in Oneonta Dec. 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. with visi-

tation beginning at 11a.m., also at the funeral home.

Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery followed the service.

All services will be directed by Lemley Funeral

Home.
