Nellie Moody Blackwood

Nellie Moody Blackwood, 81, of Blountsville,

passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at Cullman

Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 16,

1944, the daughter of Earl Talley and Vicey White

Talley.

She is survived by her husband Orval Black-

wood; children Sheila Edwards, William Moody

(Eman), and Lisha Land (Johnny); grandchildren

Melissa Sims Smith (Bobby), Justina Dorning

(Adam), Emily Moody, Mackenzie Tekulve (Hunt-

er), and Ann Marie Land; great-grandchildren Kylie

Homer Talley and Ray Talley; host of nieces, neph-

ews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first hus-

band Raymond Moody; parents Earl & Vicey Talley;

siblings Grady Talley, Delbert Talley, Mac Talley,

Louise Cosby, Joyce Callahan, Lucille Talley and

one infant.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19,

2025, at Roswell Creek Missionary Baptist Church

with Eric Stone officiating. Burial followed in the

adjoining cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel direct-

ing.

Visitation was noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 19 at Ros-

well Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Les Shedd, Bobby Smith,

James Callahan, Johnny Land, Keith Meade, and

Tony Moody. Honorary pallbearer was Adam

Moody.
